With PVC cladding, you’ll never have to worry about repairing or repainting your weatherboards again. Unlike other materials, PVC cladding has been proven to be perfectly suited for Australian conditions, where weather conditions can go from one extreme to the other in a single day. Wood can warp, crack, dislocate, peel or collapse in certain weather, but PVC cladding can survive the Australian summer, torrential storms and bitterly cold nights while retaining its shape and condition.
As well as being durable without being brittle, PVC cladding does not fade in colour the way other materials do. Instead of a layer of paint coating the outside, the manufacturing process means that the colour remains consistent throughout the PVC. This also means that there are none of the colour inconsistences that can occur with external painting.

PVC cladding can be applied both vertically and horizontally, and have a minimum of joins. The unique Windlock 180 system results in a more secure application and a tighter fit. Our PVC cladding comes with CFC free foam insulation built right into the cladding, reducing the cost of both materials and labour. This potentially means that you no longer have to bother with the hassle of installing internal insulation inside the walls. PVC cladding insulation will cool your house in the summer and warm it in the winter, resulting in a more comfortable temperature and a lower air conditioning bill.
PVC cladding is warrantied for up to 50 years, decades more than other conventional weatherboard materials. This covers all sorts of extreme weather conditions, and has been tested to withstand winds up to 288 km/h. As mentioned above, little to no maintenance is required during its 50-year lifespan and will retain its colour and shape. PVC cladding is also resistant to crush and impact situations A rolled over nailing hem adds strength and stability, and smoothes out wall irregularities. So the odd bump or collision won’t crack, split or damage the tough vinyl surface.
Variety / Aesthetics
There are 200 color and texture combinations available for our PVC weatherboards, with a wide variety of aesthetically pleasing tones and shades. PVC cladding of decades past had a reputation for looking cheap and artificial, but modern vinyl cladding uses a low-gloss, wood grain finish that makes it indistinguishable from painted wood cladding. And unlike wood cladding, the tone and vibrance of the colour won’t fade over time.
Research indicates that external wall cladding is the most important variable element in the environmental impact of a residential construction. The sourcing of the materials used and their manufacture, the lifespan of the cladding and its potential to be recycled all determine how environmentally friendly a cladding material is. PVC cladding has been proven to a lower environmental impact than metal and other plastic claddings, and is far more durable and recyclable than wooden cladding. PVC requires lower processing temperatures, resulting in lower energy consumption during manufacture. Leftover materials are also recycled back into the next manufacturing process. At the end of their long 50 year lifespan, PVC cladding can also be 100% recycled, unlike wood that rots and metal that corrodes.
Due to the chlorine base, PVC cladding does not ignite quickly and is inherently flame retardant. PVC has far higher flame resistance than traditional timber framing, and ignites at temperatures 127 degrees higher than wood. According to the Standard Test Method for Surface of Materials Using a Radiant Heat Energy Source, PVC has a one of the lowest radiant panel index’s. This means that not only does PVC have high resistance to combustion, it does not emit a large amount of energy when it burns and will not readily spread flames on its own.
